This investigation reveals that the third wave of violence witnessed in Suwayda—marked by the mobilization of tens of thousands of tribal fighters converging on the governorate—was not merely a spontaneous reaction to events on the ground. Rather, it unfolded within the context of a large-scale media campaign of disinformation and incitement that helped mobilize public opinion, rally fighters, and escalate violence against the Druze community.

The investigation is based on an analysis of media and digital materials, interviews with witnesses, victims, and local actors, as well as a quantitative and qualitative analysis of 11,118 public Facebook posts published between July 17 and August 17, 2025.
